Richard Simmons reveals why Oprah Winfrey never spoke to him again

Richard Simmons, the famous fitness guru and TV personality, has shared a heartfelt message on his Facebook page, praising Oprah Winfrey and explaining why she cut him off from her life.

Simmons, who has been out of the public eye for several years, wrote that he had a “little lump in his throat” as he recalled his admiration and gratitude for Winfrey, whom he described as “one of the most powerful and adored women” in the world.

He said that Winfrey invited him to her local talk show in Baltimore in the 1980s, and that Winfrey had him on her show again when she moved to Chicago. However, Simmons said that his relationship with Winfrey ended abruptly after he met a gossip columnist named Cindy Adams, who asked him what he thought of Winfrey’s weight loss. He said that he replied that as long as Winfrey exercised and ate healthy, she would be fine. But the next day, Adams wrote a column with the headline “Richard Simmons thinks Oprah will gain all of her weight back and some”.

Simmons said that he never said that and that Adams made it up to sell newspapers. He said that he forgave Adams because that was the kind of person that he was. But he said that Winfrey read the column and never spoke to him again and he was erased from her life and never asked to be on her show again. He said that she never forgave him for something he did not say.

Simmons said that he still respected Winfrey and that her heart was filled with helping people just like him. He said that he never talked to a gossip columnist again.

Simmons’ post has received thousands of likes and comments from his fans, who expressed their support and admiration for him. Some of them also urged Winfrey to reach out to him and mend their friendship.

Winfrey has not publicly responded to Simmons’ post. She is currently one of the most influential media moguls and philanthropists in the world, with her own network, magazine, book club, podcast, and streaming service. She has also been involved in several social causes and initiatives, such as the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, the Oprah’s Angel Network, and the Oprah Winfrey Foundation.

Simmons, who is 75 years old, has been largely out of the spotlight since 2014, when he stopped appearing on TV and social media. He has also been the subject of several rumors and speculations about his health and well-being, which he has denied or ignored. He has said that he is enjoying his privacy and that he is still in touch with some of his close friends and family. He has also said that he is still passionate about fitness and wellness, and that he hopes to inspire people to live healthier and happier lives.
